Research overview
The Music MRes is the same as an MA in Music (by research). It is a unique course with flexible options for students wishing to develop advanced skills at a postgraduate level.
The following pathways are available, and you are able to design your own bespoke combination:
- Composition (acoustic or digital)
- Performance
- Music Technology
- Musicology
Do you want to develop advanced skills in performance, composition or music tech? This course allows you to work towards your own recital or portfolio. It also offers you the chance to develop a major project in musicology.
Careers
A postgraduate degree is highly valued by employers. It is a guarantee of advanced skills in communication, organising resources, assembling substantial projects, and independent thinking. Increasingly, an MRes from a respected university gives an edge to those seeking to enter business or other professions.
An MRes in Music from the University of Nottingham also provides rigorous training for doctoral study, and is highly regarded within the scholarly community.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Students who do not meet the entry requirements stated above and students who hold a three-year diploma (Da Zhuan) from a recognised Chinese university with good grades, may be eligible for the University’s pre-Master's Programme delivered on campus at the University of Liverpool International College. Students need to have IELTS 6.5 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each component.
