在這里學(xué)什么？ Gain a deeper understanding of how the mind, the world and the universe work. This course explores the relationship between physics and philosophy to address some of the most fascinating philosophical questions raised by modern physics.You will study advanced areas of core physics such as Quantum Mechanics. Optional philosophy modules such as Knowledge and Justification will develop your expertise in this specialist field.This course will help you develop a variety of skills, such as analysis and independent study, boosting your employability. You will hone your critical thinking and communication skills through thought-provoking debates. Our students go on to work in a broad range of physics-related industries, as well as careers in science communication and policy. We have a proud history of innovative thinking. Research undertaken within the School, by Professor Sir Peter Mansfield, was recognised with a 2003 Nobel Prize for the invention of Magnetic Resonance Imaging body scanners. This technology has already helped more than half a billion people worldwide. More recently, our use of quantum technologies to understand how the brain works is changing the way that neurological conditions are detected and treated.We share our love of physics with budding scientists worldwide through the popular Sixty Symbols YouTube channel. We encourage students to share their fascination with physics with schools and the wider community through our outreach programme. This programme can help you further develop skills such as organisation, communication and team working.- Joint 3rd for research quality in physics in the UK (Research Excellence Framework 2014)- Flexibility to transfer to other physics degrees
