Course overview
Civil engineering combines your creativity with technological and scientific knowledge that can change the world. You will learn how to design and manage high-profile projects. You will study the key components of civil engineering theory and learn the skills necessary to become civil engineer. By combining individual study and working together in teams you'll learn about:
- structures
- geotechnics
- materials
- wind
- fluids
- transport
- surveying
- construction management
Also as part of your course you will take part in site visits to see civil engineering in action. You will access research and laboratory facilities, including:
- wind tunnels
- earthquake simulators
- design studios
- CAD
As a civil engineering graduate, there are many options available to you. You can choose to register with the Engineering Council as an Incorporated Engineer or progress to Chartered Engineer status. Our courses give you the required engineering expertise for either a career in industry or in many other professions that value an analytical, creative mind.

Students will be equipped to embark on a career in civil engineering, or other disciplines that require numerate problem-solving graduates.

中國(guó)學(xué)生入學(xué)要求
為來自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Students who have completed 12 years of education (Gao Zhong) in China must complete a Foundation Programme or GCE A Level (or equivalent) and demonstrate proficiency in English language in order to progress on to an undergraduate degree programme. Students who successfully complete the Foundation Certificate, obtaining the grades required for their chosen degree programme, will be guaranteed admission to the University. Students need to have IELTS 6.0 with minimum 5.5 in each component.
