The Master of Music degree combines the study of performance, pedagogy, music theory, music history, and scholarly research and writing. Individualized programs, developed in consultation with an advisor, may be developed through the use of electives.
Two-year MM programs are available in brass, conducting, jazz studies, music education (for those entering without certification), music education and piano pedagogy, musicology, percussion, piano, piano and collaborative arts, piano and pedagogy, strings, voice and opera, and woodwinds.
Graduate study in conducting develops a high degree of technical skill, musicianship, and personal leadership. In consultation with a teacher/advisor, programs of study are built around the advanced seminars in either wind ensemble, choral, or orchestral conducting, with work in analysis, bibliography, history, theory, and other related areas. The program is flexible, acknowledging each student's need to focus on specific areas related to their abilities.

為來自中國的學生設(shè)計 Students must hold a U.S. bachelor’s degree — or a comparable non-U.S. degree — from a regionally accredited institution. TGS will accept applications from international students with 3-year bachelor's degrees.
