Get a Bachelor of Arts degree in the Teaching of German. Can't decide whether to major in German or something else? Do a double major, or, if you're not in the College of LAS, a double degree. If you can't fit in German as a major, then consider getting a minor in German.
Culture and Literature Concentration
Multidisciplinary approaches to the study of German, emphasizing a balanced knowledge of German language, literature, and culture, as well as exposure to contemporary politics and social issues in broader European and global contexts. Requirements include a minimum of 10 GER courses.
Business and Commercial Studies Concentration
Focus on the language and customs of the business world in German-speaking countries, together with study of international affairs and commerce, especially trade with Europe. Requirements include a minimum of 10 GER courses.
Linguistics Concentration
Focus on the structure, development, and diversity of the Germanic languages, plus the flexibility to complement language study with a mixture of culture courses of the student's choice. Requirements include a minimum of 11 GER and SCAN courses.

English: 4 years required; Math: 3 or 3.5 years required, 4 years recommended; Social sciences: 2 years required, 4 years recommended; Lab sciences: 2 years required, 4 years recommended; Language other than English: 2 years required, 4 years recommended; Flexible academic units: 2 years required, 4+ years recommended. English language Requirements: International undergraduate students whose total TOEFL scores are 102 (TOEFL iBT) or below (*total IELTS score of 7.0 or below) are required to take the EPT. To be exempt from EPT, students must score either on TOEFL iBT: total 103 or above, and 25 or above on both speaking & writing; or on IELTS: 7.5 or above total, and 7 or above on both speaking and writing.
