While majoring in Anthropology, students must select one of the following concentrations in consultation with an advisor:
General Anthropology Concentration (4 field)
Archaeology Concentration
Human Evolutionary Biology Concentration
Sociocultural and Linguistic Anthropology Concentration
Anthropology is the study of historical and contemporary cultural and linguistic diversity throughout the world. It is a broad field covering four areas or subfields: socio-cultural anthropology, the study of contemporary societies; archaeology, the study of the material remains of past societies; linguistic anthropology, the study of talk and text; and biological anthropology, the study of human evolution and human biological diversity. At the University of Illinois, we specialize in all four of these areas.

為來(lái)自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Students should complete their high school courses strong grades in these courses. English: 4 years required; Math: 3 or 3.5 years required, 4 years recommended; Social sciences: 2 years required, 4 years recommended; Lab sciences: 2 years required, 4 years recommended; Language other than English: 2 years required, 4 years recommended; Flexible academic units: 2 years required, 4+ years recommended. English language Requirements: International undergraduate students whose total TOEFL scores are 102 (TOEFL iBT) or below (*total IELTS score of 7.0 or below) are required to take the EPT. To be exempt from EPT, students must score either on TOEFL iBT: total 103 or above, and 25 or above on both speaking & writing; or on IELTS: 7.5 or above total, and 7 or above on both speaking and writing.
