專業(yè)概況
在這里學(xué)什么？ Mathematicians are in demand in business and finance. Their skills are used to develop techniques from forecasting changes in stock and commodity markets to supporting financial products such as stock options and futures. You’ll graduate with a strong background in finance and strong quantitative skills. This could lead to a career in international banking, accountancy, the stock market, financial consultancy, government or the civil service.The course provides a firm foundation in the main areas of mathematics, such as algebra, calculus and differential equations. It also develops the area of statistics and its importance in finance and gives a grounding in micro and macroeconomics.As part of this course you’ll:* develop your abilities in problem-solving, accurate calculation and logical argument* study portfolio analysis, financial management, accounting, international banking and futures and options* use our student centre, a dedicated learning and social space for maths students* use mathematical and computational packages such as Python and the statistics package 'R'You’ll be taught through a combination of lectures and workshops, by leading researchers in fields, such as business and trade statistics, survey measurement and data integration.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計 To be considered for a place on one of our undergraduate (bachelors) degrees, you will need: First year of a relevant degree from a high ranked Chinese university, with an average grade of at least 70-80% . National Senior High School Certificate (three years), achieving an overall Grade B (80%) with minimum B (80%) in subjects relevant to the chosen undergraduate course. Students completing two years of Senior High School should have achieved 85%, National Senior High School Certificate (for both two and three years), achieving an overall 85% with 85% in maths and physics. National Senior High School Certificate (three years) achieving 80% overall, with 80% in both biology and chemistry. Students completing two years should achieve 85% overall with 855 in biology and chemistry. IELTS 6.5 overall, with a minimum of 5.5 in all components.
