在這里學(xué)什么？ How do we make sense of the events, ideas and people of the past? History at Southampton challenges you to interpret the history of past societies critically and imaginatively.Our degree programmes encourage you to pursue your own historical interests while developing critical thinking and communication skills for post-university life. The study of history at Southampton encompasses a range of skills valued by employers. You will learn to absorb, analyse and assess a wide variety of viewpoints, and express arguments in oral and written form, thinking and working independently and in cooperation with others. Study for a degree in History and gain a valuable understanding of the defining events of the past, recognise their impact upon the present, and develop an insight into the future. Explore contested narratives and develop your own interpretations by utilising a wide range of primary evidence while cultivating a highly transferable skillset. Our diverse range of modules include the ancient history of Augustus’ Rome, the medieval Crusades, the early modern Tudors, the modern Space Race and the contemporary events of the War onTerror, enabling you to tailor your degree to your interests.Southampton is ranked in the top three history departments for research, meaning our students learn from world-leading researchers (REF, 2014). We offer extremely flexible degree programmes, with a rare breadth of topics not commonly taught in British universities. Our unique archival resources include the Wellington, Palmerston and Mountbatten Papers, and the Parkes Archives specialising in Jewish history.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) To be considered for a place on one of our undergraduate (bachelors) degrees, you will need: First year of a relevant degree from a high ranked Chinese university, with an average grade of at least 70-80% . National Senior High School Certificate (three years), achieving an overall Grade B (80%) with minimum B (80%) in subjects relevant to the chosen undergraduate course. Students completing two years of Senior High School should have achieved 85%, National Senior High School Certificate (for both two and three years), achieving an overall 85% with 85% in maths and physics. National Senior High School Certificate (three years) achieving 80% overall, with 80% in both biology and chemistry. Students completing two years should achieve 85% overall with 855 in biology and chemistry. IELTS 6.5 overall, with a minimum of 5.5 in all components.
