在這里學(xué)什么？ Combining German with music enables you to take music to degree-level while studying Europe's largest native language. You may even be inspired by the fact that German is the language of Mozart, Bach, Beethoven and Schubert, Brahms, Wagner and Schoenberg, and thus offers you special access to a rich musical tradition. This course is a particularly suitable combination, given the rich musical tradition linked to the German-speaking world. You will develop your practical language skills and choose options according to your interests in both subjects. Music options embrace a wide range of musical styles and traditions and allow you to develop your studies in performance, composition and musicology. In addition to technical, historical and critical studies, there are opportunities to engage with a varied programme of practical music activities both on and off campus. You will spend year three in a German-speaking country. Modern languages and linguistics at Southampton is ranked fifth in the UK for the quality of our research (REF 2014). Teaching and learning is supported by three research centres, Transnational Studies, Global Englishes and Applied Language Research.We are first in the UK for music research (REF, 2014). Our flexible course offers an innovative range of options across performance, composition, music history and criticism, ethnomusicology, music technology, music therapy and the music profession. We also offer opportunities for all students to work in professional environments and live music venues, including Turner Sims, famous for its professional concert series.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) To be considered for a place on one of our undergraduate (bachelors) degrees, you will need: First year of a relevant degree from a high ranked Chinese university, with an average grade of at least 70-80% . National Senior High School Certificate (three years), achieving an overall Grade B (80%) with minimum B (80%) in subjects relevant to the chosen undergraduate course. Students completing two years of Senior High School should have achieved 85%, National Senior High School Certificate (for both two and three years), achieving an overall 85% with 85% in maths and physics. National Senior High School Certificate (three years) achieving 80% overall, with 80% in both biology and chemistry. Students completing two years should achieve 85% overall with 855 in biology and chemistry. IELTS 6.5 overall, with a minimum of 5.5 in all components.
