專業(yè)概況
在這里學什么？ Combining French with philosophy allows you to explore fundamental philosophical concepts and questions while studying a leading language of European philosophy. Apart from being one of the largest native languages in the world, French is, famously, the language of Descartes, Rousseau, Sartre and Derrida. French is a key international language, native to France, Belgium, Switzerland, Canada and the French Caribbean and an official language in much of Africa and Asia, while philosophy fosters rational thinking and communication, skills that are in great demand. The two subjects offer modules with complementary content. For example, in philosophy you may study the philosophy of language, aesthetics and continental philosophy, and you will be in a unique position to engage with the works of famous French philosophers such as Sartre and Foucault. Modern languages and linguistics at Southampton is ranked fifth in the UK for the quality of our research (REF 2014). Teaching and learning is supported by three research centres, Transnational Studies, Global Englishes and Applied Language Research.

為來自中國的學生設(shè)計 To be considered for a place on one of our undergraduate (bachelors) degrees, you will need: First year of a relevant degree from a high ranked Chinese university, with an average grade of at least 70-80% . National Senior High School Certificate (three years), achieving an overall Grade B (80%) with minimum B (80%) in subjects relevant to the chosen undergraduate course. Students completing two years of Senior High School should have achieved 85%, National Senior High School Certificate (for both two and three years), achieving an overall 85% with 85% in maths and physics. National Senior High School Certificate (three years) achieving 80% overall, with 80% in both biology and chemistry. Students completing two years should achieve 85% overall with 855 in biology and chemistry. IELTS 6.5 overall, with a minimum of 5.5 in all components.
