The Department of Laboratory Medicine at the University of Washington is the premier resource for education and research in basic and clinical laboratory science for the greater WWAMI region (Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho). The Master of Science degree in Laboratory Medicine prepares the graduate for advanced technical and supervisory positions in the clinical and research laboratories as well as pharmaceutical and diagnostic industries.
Graduate Curriculum
To complete the program, at least 38 credits are required, of which nine are thesis credits. Full-time medical laboratory scientists typically complete the program in two years. Non-medical laboratory scientists with a BS degree in chemistry, microbiology or biology may need three years to complete the program.

Career and Research Opportunities
A Master of Science degree in Laboratory Medicine provides opportunities to work in the health profession including: laboratory management, administration, research, global health, consultation, education and industry. Graduates of our two-year program currently work for public, private and non-profit health agencies, educational institutions, the military, and the pharmaceutical industry.

為來(lái)自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Prospective graduate students must meet the following minimum requirements: Hold a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university in the U.S.1or its equivalent from a foreign institution; Have earned at least a 3.0 grade-point-average (on a 4 point scale) for the last 90 graded quarter credits or 60 graded semester credits. Other English Language Requirements: 580 paper-based TOEFL.
