專業(yè)概況
在這里學(xué)什么?
Offering a truly international perspective, this program immerses you in two cultures (with one full year in Australia and another in China). It combines the Master of International Relations at Monash with the Master of Arts in Chinese Politics and Economy from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
Exploring the security, ethical, legal and economic dimensions of international relations, you will be prepared to deal critically and analytically with questions of global justice, war, peace, social movements, and inter-state relations.
You will examine key issues in foreign policy, world order, crisis management and terrorism, as well as gender, development, migration and governance aspects of global politics.
Offered across four specialisations; general studies in international relations, governance and security, political violence and counter-terrorism, and international diplomacy and trade, the Master of International Relations component of this double degree course will help you make sense of the complexity of global politics and economics. You will develop the analytical perspectives and skills necessary to see the "bigger picture" as well as detailed aspects of specific issues. You will also gain a solid intellectual grounding in key debates, historical events and political institutions.
During your year in Shanghai, you will complete studies on the government and politics of China, and China's diplomacy and foreign policy. You will also undertake studies in Chinese culture, to complement your developing expertise in the field. Your studies will culminate in the completion of a thesis.
Being taught by leading experts in their respective fields, who have strong local and international networks, you will be exposed to the latest advances in international relations.
Our graduates have continued on to a broad range of occupations and have, for example, been employed by the United Nations, the Australian Government, and non-governmental organisations such as the International Red Cross.
