Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) has since 2004 noted that employers generally prefer graduates with technical skills supplemented by business domain knowledge and soft skills. With the trend of outsourcing IT to vendor organisations, there is a growing need to serve business clients with a blend of technology and business skills for their sales and customer support functions. The key sectors which a need for such talents are those of the financial services, tourism-hospitality-retail, government services, healthcare, biotech, and manufacturing. Since AY2006, SCSE mounted the Double Degree programme in Computer Science and Business in recognition of the industry needs in such fields.
The Nanyang Business School (NBS) has more than 5 decades of experience in educating business leaders. Supported by a strong international faculty and renowned for its innovative curricula and teaching methods, NBS is one of only six in Asia to be awarded both the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) accreditation and the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accreditations for commitment to quality in the international marketplace for business education.
SCSE was established in 1988 to provide a broad-based foundation for students with global aspirations of a rewarding career in computing. Its state-of-the-art research centres and laboratories provide the optimum environment for cultivating future computer engineers, network designers, animation specialists and more.
This double degree programme is a hybrid curriculum that has been specially prepared to seamlessly integrate both business and computer science elements. You will be trained by the outstanding faulty of both NBS and SCSE in the fundamentals and the combined application of both fields.
At the end of four years, you will earn two degrees - Bachelor of Business (specialising in BA) and Bachelor of Engineering (Computer Science). A definite competitive advantage in today’s job market.
