As a Master of Earth Sciences (Advanced) student, you’ll delve into the complex systems and processes that shape our planet, at Australia’s leading academic research institution for Earth sciences.

You’ll study courses from different Earth science disciplines and undertake training on how to gather data and interpret results, before being provided with expert supervision for your research project.

There’s a broad range of research topics for you to choose from, including biogeochemistry, ocean and climate change, seismology and mathematical geophysics, and experimental petrology.

Upon successful completion, students will have the skills and knowledge to:

Understand advanced concepts in Earth Sciences and relate them to a range of disciplinary and interdisciplinary contexts

Apply knowledge acquired in the coursework to their research project

Acquire independently data and evaluate and interpret obtained datasets

Formulate working hypotheses and design methods to test these

Compile a major body of research in a written report and present results to an expert audience.

Communicate effectively with university staff, peer students and the wider community on Earth Science topics.

為來(lái)自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Applicants must present a Bachelor degree or international equivalent with a minimum GPA of 5.0/7.0. Academic IELTS overall score of 6.5 with at least 6 in each component of the test; TOEFL internet based test overall score of 80, with a minimum of 20 in Reading and Writing and 18 in Speaking and Listening; TOEFL paper based test score of 570 with TWE score of 4.5; Cambridge CAE Advanced score of 176 overall with at least 169 in all sub skills; PTE Academic -an overall score of 64 with a minimum score of 55 in each of the communicative skills.
