校長致辭 楊騫 Teda International School (TIS) was established in 1995 by the governing body of the Tianjin Economic Development Area (TEDA), in Tianjin, China, to support the local community by providing access to an internationally accredited educational program. All students at TIS are guided towards success by encouraging them to explore Teda International School’s exceptional academic, athletic, leadership, community-outreach, and visual & performing arts programs. As the hub for expat activities in TEDA, TIS has staked its reputation on providing academic excellence by offering outstanding early childhood, primary and secondary educational programs including a wide range of Advanced Placement (AP) offerings. These programs are supported by an extensive set of extracurricular offerings for students of all grades. TIS also organizes and hosts more than twenty intra- and inter-school events throughout the year. Teda International School is proud of the way parents, staff, and administrators work together to sustain such a vibrant, student-friendly community. To prepare its students for global citizenship, TIS balances its academic and extra-curricular programs with educational dynamics that nurture the integrity and character of its students. These dynamics center on whole-child education by developing individual talents in all areas of academics, character, physical and emotional health, and creativity. Two curricular cornerstones aim to achieve these goals at TIS. The Expected School wide Learning Results (ESLR) program expands on academic learning by seeking to develop higher personal standards and awareness in students. It does this by providing guidance in the seven areas of Global Citizenship, Excellent Communication, Problem Solving, Good Character, Critical Thinking, Life-Long Learning, and Creativity in all formal instruction, athletics, field trips, school events, and extracurricular activities. The second cornerstone at TIS is the House program. More than just friendly and fun competition, the TIS House program promotes school pride, student leadership, responsibility, initiative, teamwork, and cultural understanding. Through small group and whole school competitions and activities, community meetings, training sessions, and community service projects, the TIS House program provides students learning opportunities that support social, emotional, physical, and moral development.
