Programme overview: Industry-recognised qualification that provides academic preparation for a career in Construction Management
UCEM’s industry-recognised MSc Construction Management is designed to prepare you for a successful career as a construction professional. It provides a rigorous understanding of the principles, practices and ethics involved in construction management in a worldwide context.
Construction Managers are highly trained professionals who are involved in a wide spectrum of projects ranging from simple residential dwellings to complex infrastructure projects. Construction Management involves a suite of skills which are essential to transforming the client’s brief through the management of the construction process up to the readiness for operation of that project.
Accredited by internationally-respected professional bodies, the programme is designed to develop these requisite skills for the smooth administration of the project through its lifecycle.
The MSc Construction Management is a fully supported online programme that offers great flexibility for you to earn while you learn and study where ever you are based in the world. Many of our students often already work in, or are associated with, the property and building sectors.
This is one of a suite of MSc conversion programmes that enable graduates from disciplines unrelated to Real Estate and Construction to obtain a Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) / Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) / Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE) accredited degree, giving access to professional membership.

Assessment consists of a mix of coursework, computer marked assessments and examinations. The programme specification provides more details of the assessment method for each module.
Career & study progression:
This programme enables students to acquire skills and competencies which will enable them to face the challenges of a rapidly changing world. The programme also provides a platform for students to further enhance their professional and technical skills to enable them to move into a more senior position within construction management.
There are a broad range of careers that UCEM students undertake whilst/after completing this programme which include; construction site manager, estimator, site engineer, contracts surveyor, buyer, planner, local authority surveyor, maintenance manager and SME building company owner/manager.
This programme will provide a route for both non-cognate and semi-cognate graduates, into careers associated to membership of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE) and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
