The Criminology and Justice Studies program promotes the theoretical, analytical and practical understanding of crime, victimization and the criminal justice system from a social scientific perspective. The program provides a foundation for the study of criminology and criminal justice based in critical thinking and application, theory and research methodology, understanding diversity and global perspectives, writing, and fundamentals of law and ethical practice. Students who major in Criminology and Justice Studies are equipped to enter the criminal justice and related workforce with a solid understanding of the system of criminal justice and the ability to critically engage in an examination of that system and the work within it. Graduates of the program are also well equipped to enter into graduate study in criminal justice and other fields. Coursework in criminal justice complements many other fields, including sociology, political science, psychology, social work, counseling, child development, health, and any other field that addresses or is impacted by deviant or criminal behavior.
Student Learning Outcomes
Program Learning Objective: Criminology and Justice Studies students will demonstrate essential qualifications for employment in criminology, criminal justice, and related occupations that include the mastery of core criminology and justice principles and the ability to think critically and to speak and write effectively within the field.
- Students will critically apply core criminology and criminal justice principles to situations related to crime, criminal justice and related areas of practice.
- Students will effectively communicate in writing and speaking in the presentation of ideas and their application to issues and situations related to criminology and criminal justice.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Students will be considered for admission to CSUN if they meet the following requirements: Have earned a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 grading scale, or an average of "B" grades on an "A - F" letter grading scale. An international first-time freshman is a student applying to a bachelor's degree program who has not completed any post-secondary course work at a college or university. English language requirements: IELTS Academic - International English Language Test System: 6.0 or higher; iTEP Academic - International Test of English Proficiency - 5.0 or higher; PTE Academic - Pearson’s Test of English - 45 or higher; TOEFL - Test of English as a Foreign Language: Internet Based score: 61, Paper-based score: 500. We do not accept TOEFL ITP.
