With this degree you’ll gain the skills and knowledge to be a confident teacher in settings that range from pre-schools through to Year 6.
You’ll gain experience in schools and various programs which will help you to perfect your skills and develop your understanding of what it takes to be a teacher. You may choose to work with children with disabilities or support those who are disengaged with learning. You’ll learn exactly what type of teacher you are and how to use your unique skills for the benefit of your students.
You can choose your entry point and tailor your studies to finish in three to four years, depending on previous qualifications.
You will undertake 110 days of supervised teaching placement in both early childhood and primary settings. In addition, you may participate in voluntary overseas placements in locations such as Timor Leste, England, China, New Zealand and Nepal.
If you hold a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent, you will only be required to complete 95 days of teaching placement.
