With access to our unrivalled state-of-the-art prototyping and 3D printing equipment, you'll have everything you need to develop original ideas and deliver detailed designs that are ready for production.You'll gain the tools to develop products that push boundaries in order to thrive in this innovative sector. Students create and market their own work with pitch presentations, images and design documents.This course will teach students to learn cutting-edge research and analysis approaches, develop original ideas with creative thinking and deliver detailed designs that are ready for production. It is predominantly project-based and explores the functional and market-led requirements of product design from concept to production.Students will study the functional and market-led requirements of product design, looking at ergonomics, aesthetics, usability, sustainability, intellectual property and the application of technology.They will also learn to communicate their design work engagingly through pitch presentations, images and design documents.The expert lecturers and technicians will provide a unique insight into the market and teach students to identify areas where design could have a significant positive impact in social, economic and environmental contexts.Key study topics include:- Concept generation- How to manage ideas- User research: how to understand people's needs- Prototyping- Ideas to market: selling a vision
