Discover the significance of religious practices and beliefs in the contemporary world as you combine the study of religions and Christian theology.
Course overview
This course will encourage you to consider the significance of religious practices and perspectives in the contemporary world, as well as inviting you to think critically about the Bible, Christian belief, philosophy and ethics. You will study areas within the core subjects of theology, religious studies and biblical studies.

You will have the opportunity to develop your own interests and engage contemporary questions with religious and theological texts and traditions.
Teaching methods
You will be taught through a combination of lectures, seminars, individual tutorials, study visits, group work and one-to-one tutorials. There will also be opportunities for field trips in the UK and/or abroad. Our building houses a computer room, kitchen, student social and study space, and three purpose-built modern lecture rooms.
Assessment
Assessment is mainly by coursework, such as essays, portfolios, presentations, text reviews, field reports, and seminars. Some modules may have a short exam.
Job prospects
This course develops skills in empathy, cultural sensitivity, and religious literacy valued by employers. Students go on to work in a number of professions, including teaching, banking and financial business, marketing and advertising, publishing, the civil service, health and social care, counselling, customer service, church and youth work, and ordained ministry.
