Programme Objectives
In addition to developing subject-based expertise and skills, consideration of practices adopted in this field globally will ensure the programme is relevant to an international community of students.
The programme is intended to:
Provide students with a sound knowledge and understanding in the fundamental subjects that underpin Biomedical Science, including human physiology and anatomy, biochemistry, cell biology, molecular genetics, immunology, microbiology and the biology of disease.
To develop intellectual skills in relation to knowledge and understanding of current methods available for laboratory investigation, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease. In addition to the roles of specialist disciplines, including medical microbiology, clinical biochemistry, cellular pathology, hematology and transfusion science and clinical immunology.
To develop practical skills in the laboratory in addition to broader professional skills.
To prepare students for employment or future study by developing transferable skills, including self-management and reflective practice, communication, IT, numeracy, data analysis and interpersonal and teamwork skills.
To develop an appreciation of the role of scientific research in the advancement of Biomedical Science.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計 Applicants must be of age 17 and above and must possess one of the following entrance requirements: Year 1 Entry: MDIS International Foundation Diploma in Engineering or At least 3 GCE 'A' Level Subjects including Mathematics Grade C and min. Grade E in any Analytical Science Subject (Biology, Chemistry, Computer Sciences, Physics or Technology) or Engineering-related foundation diplomas from other Private Education Institutes (PEIs) with an entry requirement of 10 years of formal education or Engineering-related local polytechnic diploma holders with 1 year of relevant working experience. Advanced Standing: Year 2 Entry- Engineering-related local polytechnic diploma holders with a minimum CGPA of 2.0 or Engineering-related higher diplomas or advanced diplomas (equivalent to 1st year EDP) from other Private Education Institutes (PEIs) with an entry requirement of 12 years of formal education. English Language Requirement: Applicants are required to possess at least one of the following: Min C6 EL1 GCE O Level; Min Pearson Academic Score 51; IELTS 5.5 Equivalent.
