Dialogue, essential to any practical application of philosophy, is at the heart of the MAAPE program. Students apply theory by participating in the Department of Philosophy’s Dialogue Series. The series includes student and faculty presenters from all eight colleges on campus, as well as speakers from off campus.
The M.A. in Applied Philosophy and Ethics prepares students to enter professions in business, nonprofits and public agencies through a strong grounding in the analysis and application of ethical theories in professional and community settings. By fostering a love of learning, an appreciation of the value of critical and reflective thinking and a collaborative intellectual community, we encourage our students to become engaged, reflective citizens and lifelong learners while also providing a foundation for graduate study or careers in government, law, the non-profit sector, business or education.
