在這里學(xué)什么?
The Digital Media Innovation (B.S.) program immerses students in the breadth of digital knowledge to prepare them for new and emerging media roles. These roles, requiring advanced technology skills and digital perspective, include news application developers, multimedia experience producers, social media editors, engagement managers and data analysts, and can include positions in traditional media organizations, technology companies and media start-ups. Students in this sequence focus on digital strategy and experimentation associated with new models of storytelling and innovative applications of media.
The digital media landscape has undergone unprecedented change over the past decade due to the emergence of the Internet, Web, mobile technologies and social media. Mass audiences have given way to communication ecosystems where parties both consume and produce, and media strategy includes ways to engage audiences, analyze data and propose new models for generating revenue. New devices are changing the location of content consumption and creation in our highly visual, always-on, always-connected world.
The Digital Media Innovation and Mass Communication (DMI) major immerses students in the breadth of digital knowledge to prepare them for new and emerging media roles. The DMI degree is a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) -designated program, a federal designation defined by the Department of Homeland Security. It is the only program in the College of Fine Arts and Communication with the STEM designation, integrating communication, media and technology. STEM skills are in high demand, and STEM-based careers offer unique opportunities for those who demonstrate this hybrid of strong communication expertise and advanced technology savvy. The emphasis of the major is on strategic and problem-solving skills that will serve graduates throughout their digital media careers.
