The Masters Degree in Collaborative Piano at SIU prepares students for careers as vocal coaches, opera coaches and pianists, professional accompanists, and teachers of collaborative piano. Students may concentrate in either a “Vocal” track or an “Instrumental and Chamber Music” track in Collaborative Piano. The vocal track also includes an exit requirement of knowledge of German, French, Italian, and English diction using IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet).
SIU offers its students valuable experience in these areas through participation in Opera and Musical Theater Productions and Workshops, studio accompanying in both the vocal and instrumental areas, chamber music, choral accompaniment, and duo piano repertoire. Most students accepted into the program will receive a Graduate Assistantship in Accompanying that waives all tuition (up to 12 hours each semester) and includes a yearly stipend around $6000. The degree program is a 2-year program in most cases.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Applicants must have completed 2.7 (on a grading scale with 4.0=A; approximately a "B-" average) on the last two years of bachelor’s coursework; 3.0 on all previous graduate work (approximately a "B" average). English Language Requirement: 550 on the paper based TOEFL; 80 on the internet based TOEFL; 6.5 on the IELTS; 5.0 on the iTep Academic Plus Exam; C1 required on the Cambridge English Exam.
