The Master of Public Safety and Homeland Security Administration degree provides advanced practical coursework in the areas of public safety and homeland security administration. It is designed for public safety professionals who possess a bachelor’s degree in public safety, fire services, or other related disciplines, and have extensive work experience in the public safety industry. Because the degree is available online and at off-campus locations only, students have the ability to earn credit while fulfilling work and other professional obligations.
THE MASTER OF PUBLIC SAFETY AND HOMELAND SECURITY ADMINISTRATION DEGREE IS DESIGNED TO:
Develop and expand the body of knowledge in the public safety, fire service, and emergency management disciplines. Enhance critical thinking and problem solving skills to diagnose, analyze, and provide solutions to complex public safety, fire service, and emergency management situations. Train executive and managerial leaders in public safety, fire service, and emergency management organizations. Provide the necessary credentials for career advancement in public safety, fire service, and emergency management fields.
CURRICULUM
The Master of Public Safety and Homeland Security Administration degree has a minimum requirement of 39 semester hours for graduation (31 for In-Service) for graduation. Students may complete the degree in as little as 16 months or 4 semesters. Generally students will enroll for 3 classes each semester, except for the final semester, during which students will enroll in four classes.
There are two tracks to the program. The first track is the In-Service track for those individuals who have graduated from the National Fire Academy Executive Fire Office (EFO) program. This track requires 30 hours of course work.
Those students who are not EFO graduates need 9 additional hours of coursework. Those 9 additional hours would bring the Pre-Service requirement to 39 semester hours of work.

為來(lái)自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Applicants must have completed 2.7 (on a grading scale with 4.0=A; approximately a "B-" average) on the last two years of bachelor’s coursework; 3.0 on all previous graduate work (approximately a "B" average). English Language Requirement: 550 on the paper based TOEFL; 80 on the internet based TOEFL; 6.5 on the IELTS; 5.0 on the iTep Academic Plus Exam; C1 required on the Cambridge English Exam.
