Most students in the department are enrolled in a Masters of Science (M.S.) in Geology, a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Geosciences, or a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Environmental Resources and Policy (ERP). We also offer a M.A. (Masters of Arts) degree and a Certificate in Earth Sciences.
SUMMARY OF DEGREE REQUIREMENTS
The Master of Arts Degree (non-thesis option) is open to post baccalaureate students with degrees in earth science, geology, or related fields. It is intended to expand the knowledge, skills, and specialized training in geological topics. The required course work includes thirty (30) graduate credit hours, of which a minimum of twenty-one (21) must be taken in the Department of Geology. The courses taken will be determined by interests of the individual student, but must be approved by the student's three-person departmental advisory committee. At least three (3) credits of GEOL 591 Individual Research in Geology must be taken.

為來(lái)自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Applicants must have completed 2.7 (on a grading scale with 4.0=A; approximately a "B-" average) on the last two years of bachelor’s coursework; 3.0 on all previous graduate work (approximately a "B" average). English Language Requirement: 550 on the paper based TOEFL; 80 on the internet based TOEFL; 6.5 on the IELTS; 5.0 on the iTep Academic Plus Exam; C1 required on the Cambridge English Exam.
