在這里學(xué)什么?
The MSEd program in Curriculum and Instruction is open to traditional and nontraditional educators. Some of our students are licensed teachers in the public P-12 schools, and other students plan to work at community colleges, human service agencies, businesses, colleges or universities.
OUR FOCUS
The program emphasizes working with learners’ local cultures and learning environments. This philosophy fits all learning environments, whether rural, suburban, or urban; pre-kindergarten through adult learners; traditional schooling or community experiences. Key components of the program include systems thinking, culturally-relevant pedagogy, and the design of accessible learning environments for learners with diverse needs.
COURSE REQUIREMENTS
The program engages a cohort model to build community with continuity of the course content offered. The seven (7) required Core Courses are all online and include: CI500, CI503, CI504, CI514, CI402, CI544, and CI594. The remaining five (5) courses are electives and completed through online, hybrid, or onsite options through approval of the students’ academic advisor.
ELECTIVES OPTIONS
In addition to the Core Courses, students have several options for the electives they wish to complete, including certificate options, dual credit degrees, or concentrations in areas such as Learning Systems Design and Technology, “STEAM” Education, Human Development and Family Services, or Language, Literacies, and Culture, to name a few. Students’ graduate advisors can help them identify the electives that best meet their professional goals.
ONLINE DEGREE OPTION
Starting in fall 2019, students have the option to finish an MSEd completely online with the 7 Core Courses and 5 electives focused on Instruction and Assessment for Adult Literacies. These additional online courses include: CI421, CI547, CI570, CI597, and CI594M.
