The primary mission of the baccalaureate program in Rehabilitation Services is to prepare students to work with people with disabilities in a variety of settings in a wide range of positions. Students will learn the knowledge and skills necessary to assist individuals with disabilities to obtain and maintain meaningful employment, to live as independently as possible, to participate to the fullest extent possible in their communities, and to assume control of their lives. These skills and experiences are facilitated through the program objectives.
CAREERS IN REHABILITATION SERVICES
With a degree in Rehabilitation services, employment can be found in many community-based rehabilitation programs, mental health centers, independent living, aging programs, and alcohol and substance abuse programs among others. Job titles may include: Developmental Training Coordinator; Independent Living Specialist; Employment Specialist; Social Services Coordinator; Substance Abuse Technician; Community-Based Training Instructor; Case Manager; Job Placement Specialist; Residential Service Director; Youth Career Counselor.
Alumni from this program are employed in numerous agencies including: Vocational Training Programs; Residential Programs; Independent Living Centers; Community Mental Health Programs; Substance Abuse Programs; Assisted Living Programs; Residential Programs.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Students must have completed a high school or equivalent. Academic Requirements (grade point averages are on a 4.0 scale and are calculated by SIU): 26 credits or more at another college/university - submit college/university transcripts showing a GPA of 2.0 or greater on all coursework; 0-25 credits at another college/university - submit high school AND university/college transcripts showing 2.0 GPA on all coursework; 5 Passes on the GCE O or A level exams (under the Cambridge/ed excel model). English Language Requirement: TOEFL - 68 on the internet-based test; TOEFL - 520 on the paper-based test; ITEP - 4.0 (academic plus only); IELTS - 6.0.
