Within SIU’s Department of Public Health and Recreation Professions, the Outdoor Recreation Leadership and Management emphasis is focused on preparing high quality emerging professionals equipped with the knowledge and experience to become competent outdoor educators and wilderness leaders who can apply their skills in diverse groups and environments.
To accomplish this, the program provides educational, and technical outdoor skills developed through this academic emphasis are integrated throughout multiple experiential learning opportunities critical for students seeking to develop a competitive edge. Below you find an outline of the program curriculum.

為來(lái)自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Students must have completed a high school or equivalent. Academic Requirements (grade point averages are on a 4.0 scale and are calculated by SIU): 26 credits or more at another college/university - submit college/university transcripts showing a GPA of 2.0 or greater on all coursework; 0-25 credits at another college/university - submit high school AND university/college transcripts showing 2.0 GPA on all coursework; 5 Passes on the GCE O or A level exams (under the Cambridge/ed excel model). English Language Requirement: TOEFL - 68 on the internet-based test; TOEFL - 520 on the paper-based test; ITEP - 4.0 (academic plus only); IELTS - 6.0.
