A specialization in Production Horticulture focuses on the challenges of growing and harvesting a diverse range of fruit, vegetables, nuts and herbs in farms, extensive orchards and controlled environmental conditions for local markets, processing and exporting.
What will I study?
Courses cover the exciting world of vegetable, fruit and ornamental production, viticulture, garden center, greenhouse and nursery production and tissue culture and propagation methodologies.
Students may choose a general option within the department and select their upper division elective credits from a wide choice of courses throughout the College of Agricultural Sciences and the University. If interests are more specialized, students may elect the science option and specialize in a specific discipline.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Students must have completed a high school or equivalent. Academic Requirements (grade point averages are on a 4.0 scale and are calculated by SIU): 26 credits or more at another college/university - submit college/university transcripts showing a GPA of 2.0 or greater on all coursework; 0-25 credits at another college/university - submit high school AND university/college transcripts showing 2.0 GPA on all coursework; 5 Passes on the GCE O or A level exams (under the Cambridge/ed excel model). English Language Requirement: TOEFL - 68 on the internet-based test; TOEFL - 520 on the paper-based test; ITEP - 4.0 (academic plus only); IELTS - 6.0.
