Our top-ranked bachelor’s degree in Forestry focuses on sustainable management of natural resources while working outdoors, in nature, with interesting people from all walks of life.
Discover forestry management, park and recreational land management, ecology, wildlife management, environmental education, restoration, watershed management, and urban forestry. Our top-notch program is one of 47 nationally accredited Bachelor of Science programs by the Society of American Foresters.
Learn about forest ecosystems and why they are crucial to the biosphere and gain expertise in managing public or private forests – all the while employing natural resource sciences for the protection, management, and sustainable use of terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems.

The Department of Forestry offers the following game-changing specializations: Forest Hydrology; Forest Resources Management; Forest Recreation and Park Management; Urban Forest Management; Wildlife Habitat Management and Conservation.
Custom Forestry Program: In addition to these specializations, the Forestry major also offers students the flexibility to customize a specific course of study in order to meet individual employment and educational goals. Working closely with a faculty advisor, students craft a unique program of study in Forestry that takes them on a transformative and ultimately rewarding educational journey.

CURRICULUM AND COURSES
The Forestry program requires the standard 120 credit hours for a baccalaureate degree, including meeting University Core Curriculum and the College of Agricultural Sciences’ requirements, which may be met though an approved Associate’s degree from an accredited community college.

Our program is accredited by the Society of American Foresters, and is nationally ranked. Our graduates have gone on to rewarding careers in a wide variety of forestry-related positions throughout the country.
The Forestry Department is well placed in Southern Illinois, surrounded by thousands of acres of different forest types and agricultural land, providing students with excellent facilities both on and off campus.

為來(lái)自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Students must have completed a high school or equivalent. Academic Requirements (grade point averages are on a 4.0 scale and are calculated by SIU): 26 credits or more at another college/university - submit college/university transcripts showing a GPA of 2.0 or greater on all coursework; 0-25 credits at another college/university - submit high school AND university/college transcripts showing 2.0 GPA on all coursework; 5 Passes on the GCE O or A level exams (under the Cambridge/ed excel model). English Language Requirement: TOEFL - 68 on the internet-based test; TOEFL - 520 on the paper-based test; ITEP - 4.0 (academic plus only); IELTS - 6.0.
