A Pre-Law (Agricultural / Environmental) specialization is an innovative program of study custom-tailored to help you meet your interests within the field of agribusiness economics, while preparing you for the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT).
If you are looking at pursuing a law degree after successfully completing your Bachelor of Science degree in Agribusiness Economics, a faculty advisor will work one-on-one with you to develop an exciting program uniquely tailored to meet your needs.
What will I study?
Classes such as agribusiness management, finance, sales, marketing, agricultural law, commodity futures and managerial decision-making provide students with a solid foundation.
Other challenging classes in economic analysis, statistics, price analysis and applied policy analysis provide students with the background and skills necessary for effective decision-making and dealing with contemporary societal issues.
Success in application to law school and in taking the LSAT depends on a student's analytical reasoning abilities, reading comprehension, skills in logical reasoning and argument and abilities in oral and written communication.
These are skills that will be developed and nurtured through your study of Agribusiness Economics at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.

Major companies often seek individuals with expertise in a subject matter. A law degree following a Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness Economics opens many doors in the fields of agriculture, food and forestry.
To get you ready for the Law School Admission Test (LSAT), your pre-law advisor will work with you to schedule courses, internships and other experiences. The pre-law advisor will also work with you on your application to law school.
Our close association with the SIU School of Law in Carbondale is an added advantage.

為來自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Students must have completed a high school or equivalent. Academic Requirements (grade point averages are on a 4.0 scale and are calculated by SIU): 26 credits or more at another college/university - submit college/university transcripts showing a GPA of 2.0 or greater on all coursework; 0-25 credits at another college/university - submit high school AND university/college transcripts showing 2.0 GPA on all coursework; 5 Passes on the GCE O or A level exams (under the Cambridge/ed excel model). English Language Requirement: TOEFL - 68 on the internet-based test; TOEFL - 520 on the paper-based test; ITEP - 4.0 (academic plus only); IELTS - 6.0.
