The Zoology program offers B.A., B.S.,P.S.M., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees for students interested in the scientific study of animals. The faculty maintains expertise in ecology and ecosystem studies; genetics, evolution and population biology; fisheries biology and aquaculture; environmental toxicology; and wildlife ecology and management. In collaboration with other life-science programs at SIUC, Zoology staff and students engage in interdisciplinary scholarship and training activities that extend from molecular to ecosystem levels.
The Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Zoology is for students who plan on non-science careers but desire a strong background in zoology. The major includes 22-23 hours of free electives which can be used for a minor or second major. Specific course recommendations are available for students interested in zoo keeping.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Students must have completed a high school or equivalent. Academic Requirements (grade point averages are on a 4.0 scale and are calculated by SIU): 26 credits or more at another college/university - submit college/university transcripts showing a GPA of 2.0 or greater on all coursework; 0-25 credits at another college/university - submit high school AND university/college transcripts showing 2.0 GPA on all coursework; 5 Passes on the GCE O or A level exams (under the Cambridge/ed excel model). English Language Requirement: TOEFL - 68 on the internet-based test; TOEFL - 520 on the paper-based test; ITEP - 4.0 (academic plus only); IELTS - 6.0.
