在這里學什么？ This programme will aim to bridge the gap between healthcare and the science behind pharmacy and will address the educational needs of pharmacy assistants.In the early years of the programme the emphasis will be placed on the molecular science fields, while in the latter years the health/clinical aspects of the programme will become the predominant theme.Laboratory work will comprise a significant element of the programme; you will develop skills across the traditional subject boundaries equipping you to meet the challenges associated with practical work in the pharmacy sector. You will also develop a range of transferable skills.The Honours sandwich programme offers the possibility of a year’s work experience between years 3 and 4. Study abroad opportunities are available.Graduates are expected to have employment opportunities with organisations in pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors in Scotland and internationally. Roles include health advice/consultancy, sales and marketing, pharmacy support and clinical research trials on new drugs.Your LearningThe first year of the programme will have common modules with other UWS programmes, thus the structure will allow students the option to pursue other science programmes at the end of Year 1. Laboratory work will comprise a significant element of the programme; students will develop skills across the traditional subject boundaries equipping them to meet the challenges associated with practical work in the pharmacy sector. The University has numerous well-equipped laboratories in chemical analysis, materials characterisation, drug synthesis, microbiology, biochemistry and biomedical sciences.Transferable skills such as dealing with data, word processing, technical communication and personal development, will be fully integrated within the different modules throughout the programme.The structure of the programme will facilitate academic growth for students at SCQF levels 7 to 10.Please note that the Pharmacy Science & Health programme will not lead to the Masters in Pharmacy (MPharm) award and therefore does not allow graduates to register as a pharmacist.Career prospectsGraduates are expected to have employment opportunities with organisations in pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors in Scotland and internationally.
