A degree in Actuarial Studies lays the groundwork for a career in the insurance industry. Coursework stresses accounting, economics, mathematics, and business fundamentals. The program also prepares students for a series of professional examinations. Admission to the program, which is administered by the Department of Economics, is selective.

The Division of Social Sciences includes the departments of Accounting and Information systems; Anthropology; Economics; History; Philosophy; Political Science; Sociology; Urban Studies; and the Graduate School of Library and Information Studies, as well as programs in Africana Studies, Applied Social Science, Business Administration, Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies, East Asian Studies, Honors in the Social Sciences, Irish Studies, Italian-American Studies, Interdisciplinary and Special Studies, Jewish Studies, Journalism, Labor Studies, Latin American and Latino Studies, Religious Studies, and Women’s Studies.

為來自中國的學生設(shè)計 Applicants must have high school program incorporating 4 years of English, 4 years of social studies, 3 years of math, 3 years of foreign language, and at least 2 years of lab science. Strong candidates have a high school average of B (GPA = 80) or better, or a GED of at least 3500. Applicants also need to submit SAT or ACT scores. Applicants, who score below a 100 on the TOEFL IBT, or below a 7 on the IELTS, will be required to register for the Graduate English as a Second Language (GESL) course during the first semester.
