u200bByzantine and Modern Greek Studies is an interdisciplinary field concerning the history, language, arts, and culture of the Greek people from Byzantine times to the present. Combining the humanities and the social sciences, it offers advanced coursework in four areas: Byzantine studies, modern Greek studies, modern Greek literature and culture, and Greek American studies. In the United States, the opportunity to earn an interdisciplinary BA in this field is unique to Queens College. The bachelor’s degree offers excellent preparation for graduate work in Byzantine or modern Greek studies. In addition, it serves as an entrée to a career for students interested in the Greek experience and language. For example, students may go on to careers in education, community organization and development, social work, business, journalism, international affairs, or the arts.

為來自中國的學生設計 Applicants must have high school program incorporating 4 years of English, 4 years of social studies, 3 years of math, 3 years of foreign language, and at least 2 years of lab science. Strong candidates have a high school average of B (GPA = 80) or better, or a GED of at least 3500. Applicants also need to submit SAT or ACT scores. Applicants, who score below a 100 on the TOEFL IBT, or below a 7 on the IELTS, will be required to register for the Graduate English as a Second Language (GESL) course during the first semester.
