In this course analyze our modern world through the study of global trends within American, African, British and European history from the nineteenth century to the present. Develop your awareness of how our contemporary society, culture and politics have been shaped. Placement opportunities with our partners can be used to gain experience in archives, museums, research institutes and political think tanks. Gain a degree which will enhance your knowledge and abilities and which provides the practical and analytical skills for a variety of careers.
A degree in Modern History will provide students with the opportunity to take up a number of career roles after graduation. History degrees are valued by employers as they enhance key skills in communication, analysis and reporting. Our graduates have taken employment as teachers, lawyers, accountants, managers but have also continued their education with postgraduate study (MA and PhD).Graduates from the University of Chichester have succeeded in a range of positions after their studies through the supportive environment, varied modules and the commitment to students provided by the Department of History.
