Our Bachelor of Arts in Performing Arts will give you the skills, tools and opportunities you need to turn your love of theatre into a lifelong career. Fontbonne’s program is dedicated to developing teaching artists, designers, stage managers, certified educators, actors and directors — working professionals who can impact their communities through theatre.
Our recently redeveloped program prepares you to be an employable and satisfied artist of the future. We understand what jobs are available in the market, and we’ve developed curriculum and training that will help you successfully fill those roles. You’ll work with Fontbonne’s experienced performing arts faculty, as well as Mustard Seed Theatre, an award-winning professional company-in-residence on Fontbonne’s campus.
Program Highlights
As a theater artist, you have the opportunity to entertain in ways that improve the world and enlighten others. Your major has meaning. Our program focuses on ways theatre can help the community.
- Many major theatre companies in the nation have education departments that employ full-time teaching artists, providing stability and fullfillment. Continue to do theatre — and work in the field that you love!
- We encourage our students to be Artivists: activists using art for positive social change. We have courses that focus on collaboratively creating theatre with a variety of communities.
- You will be prepared to make theatre where you are, with what you have, instead of waiting for permission to create. Our program ensures you have the necessary knowledge and skills to live your art.
- Work with Mustard Seed Theatre, the professional theatre company in-residence at Fontbonne. You can be part of this well respected company while still an undergrad.
- You have the option to become a certified teacher and earn secondary teaching certification in speech and theatre.
- You could be eligible for a performing arts talent scholarship.
- You’ll receive early and varied professional experience in your area of emphasis.

中國學(xué)生入學(xué)要求
為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) All undergraduate programs require a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale from high school (equivalent to a 78% on a **** scale). Other English Language Requirements: ELS: Completion of Level 112; Inlingua: Completion of ESL 300, 301, 302; Kaplan – Completion of Higher Intermediate level; Completion of English composition one at a US college or university; OR: COMPASS ESL Language Score 260+ (this option is only available for students in St. Louis who have applied to the university. The complimentary institutional test may only be taken one time for admission purposes).
