Graduates of the Master of Accounting (MACT) program at St. Edward's University are prepared for career advancement in the accounting profession in positions that are universally in demand.
MACT courses develop technical expertise in areas such as accounting research, advanced federal taxation, advanced accounting and fraud examination. Other required courses are in business law for accountants and accounting ethics, which help students, learn about codes of professional conduct and their role as guardians of the public trust.
LEARNING GOALS
STUDENTS WHO EARN A MACT DEGREE WILL BE ABLE TO:
- Demonstrate professional competency in their knowledge of technical accounting topics
- Identify and evaluate issues that require professional judgment
- Analyze accounting, financial and strategic business issues
- Conduct professional research from authoritative sources
- Assess and communicate financial issues, information, and solutions
- Evaluate and promote ethical decisions, particularly with regard to protecting the public trust
