The theatre department at SUNY Plattsburgh endeavors to provide you with the necessary skills to succeed academically, professionally and personally.
What Will I Learn?
Working within the framework of theatre as a liberal art, you will focus on performance, theatrical design/technology, theatre history, dramatic literature and theory — and combine these skills within our generalist B.A. major.
What is Unique About Our Program?
Theatre majors have an opportunity to enter their work and attend the Region 1 Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival, in areas from acting, playwriting, design, stage management, and dramaturgy, just to name a few.
What Are My Career Opportunities?
Working with faculty who are both scholars and professional directors and designers, our students have gone onto work in the professional theatre, professional graduate training programs in theatre, teaching, and into many different communications-related fields:
