This combined 4+1 program allows the English major who is interested in teaching English to speakers of other languages to earn both degrees in five years. Students will take graduate credits as part of their undergraduate English major and will have a minor in educational studies that also incorporates graduate coursework. Students who earn the MATESOL can pursue both the licensure track which prepares students to teaching in K-12 publish schools in Massachusetts, and the non-licensure track will prepare you to teach in adult, overseas, college or community settings. Students should apply after earning between 45 and 90 undergraduate credits.
