The Department exists to promote a broader and deeper understanding of the role that leisure and recreation provides in the lives of all people as well as to enhance the quality of Recreation Leisure experiences available to each person.
Students intending to transfer from community colleges to this University are advised to complete general education requirements while attending the community college. Courses equivalent to REC 141, REC 225 and lower-division courses applicable to concentrations within the major (H SC 150, BIOL 207, BIOL 208, PSY 100), should be taken while attending community college if offered. Other recreation courses taken at community colleges cannot be substituted for upper-division recreation courses.

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): Paper-based 500; Internet-based (iBT) 61, IELTS 5.5 each sub-section, Pearson Test of English 43.
