This major provides preparation for students interested in a career in the field of early childhood and child development without elementary teacher certification. The Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood degree is designed to meet the needs of students with one or more of the following career goals:
Lead Teacher in Great Start Readiness Program, Head Start and Early Head Start program Childcare Director or Head Start/Early Head Start Early Childhood Coordinator Service provider for community agencies such as Early On, Child Abuse and Neglect Council, Department of Human Services, Children’s Museums, etc.
Additionally, the Bachelor’s of Arts in Early Childhood is appropriate for:
Candidates interested in early childhood professional graduate programs. Students who are graduates of associate degree early childhood/child development programs.
Core courses and electives provide a sound foundation in early childhood education, with additional electives providing an opportunity to meet individualized learning needs based on career goals.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Applicants must currently be a junior or senior in high school (with or without college credits), or have graduated high school and have taken no college courses. We strongly recommend high school students take a rigorous college preparatory curriculum prior to enrolling at SVSU. The primary core includes: 4 years of English; 3 years of mathematics (through second year algebra); 3 years of natural sciences (at least two years of biology, chemistry, or physics); 3 years of social sciences; 2 years of the same foreign language. Minimum Language Requirements: Minimum GPA: 2.0; TOEFL- IBT: 61; IELTS: 5.5; PTE: 45.
