The School of Administrative Science's Master of Arts in Student Services Administration is the perfect solution for current and aspiring professionals who seek to build or advance their credentials for a career in administrative and student support services in higher education.
This program explores both the theoretical and practical sides of student services administration from admissions and financial aid, student affairs and residential life, to intercollegiate athletics, student activities, campus security, and records and registration.

The Master of Arts in Student Services Administration is a thirty-six (36) credit hour, non-thesis program consisting of 18 credits of required core courses, which include a 3 credit course in a college student personnel internship, and 18 credits of electives. Required courses include: Research Methods; College Student Development; Social Issues in Higher Education; Governance, Planning and Finance in Higher Education; The Law and Student Affairs; and Student Personnel Internship. A final project paper is also required. Tuition includes 45% scholarship for all applicants.
Learning Outcomes
1. Strategic Orientation – An SAS graduate will demonstrate the ability to develop, implement, coordinate, and/or manage a strategic plan through a collaborative process.
2. Communication – An SAS graduate will demonstrate the ability to prepare and deliver effective oral presentations and or write documents that present and evaluate information and opinion in a logical and analytical manner, incorporating research and documentation, and using style, grammar, mechanics, and format appropriate to an educated audience.
3. Information Literacy – An SAS graduate will demonstrate the ability to carry out thorough and effective information search strategies using traditional print, digital, and internet sources, evaluate information accessed, and use this information along with existing knowledge to create something new.
4. Critical Thinking – An SAS graduate will demonstrate competency in critical thinking that encompasses dimensions of informal logic and ethical analysis.

Whether taken in-person or blended with online learning, the MA in Student Services Administration offers an outstanding degree that will prepare you for a leadership position in higher education. The curriculum integrates theory and practice with hands-on learning to provide a thorough understanding of current issues facing colleges and universities. Our four focus areas are specially designed to meet the needs of today’s college administrators.
