The Master of Science in Management Science and Supply Chain Management, from Wichita State's AACSB-accredited Barton School of Business, is a STEM program preparing you for leadership in supply chain management, logistics and other related areas. The program targets a wide range of diverse domestic and international applicants. The supply chain curriculum is designed in a manner that students will acquire mastery in the managerial and analytics aspects of supply chain operations and develop contemporary competencies via innovative hands-on activities and industry practices.
You'll develop an understanding of the organization as an integrated system with respect to its supply chain. And you'll be well prepared for management careers in diverse settings from procurement and outsourcing to transportation, storage and distribution.
Curriculum
The degree offers you two options: supply chain management and supply chain analytics. Each provides completion options including: coursework, project or thesis.
- Management track focuses on developing capabilities and mastery leading to value creation in global management of procurement, logistics and operations.
- Analytics track aims to build capabilities in the use of innovative tools and techniques in decision-making processes from design to planning phases.
Courses are a mix of 16-week classes and eight-week hybrid classes. While taking the eight-week hybrids, you’ll attend class once a week and also complete work online.
Applied Learning
Students in the Master of Science in management science and supply chain management program are required to complete an applied learning or research experience to graduate from the program. The requirement can be met by completing a project, a thesis or the following required classes:
- DS 850 Operations Management
- IME 783 Supply Chain Management
- DS 725 Global Procurement and Outsourcing

The minimum acceptable scores for most programs are: TOEFL - 79 on the Internet-based test, or 550 on the paper-based test. IELTS - minimum overall band score of 6.5 is required. PTE Academic - 58.
