The Master of Science (MS) in Aerospace Engineering program offers advanced study in several specializations to help you advance your career. You’ll have access to some of the best aerospace facilities in the country and the chance to work and research with faculty and industry professionals on campus and throughout Wichita, the world’s “Air Capital.”
Curriculum
The master’s degree program offers four specializations.
- Aerodynamics and fluid mechanics
- Structures and solid mechanics
- Flight dynamics and control
- Multidisciplinary analysis and design
To graduate, you must also complete one of three options: a thesis, directed project or additional coursework.
All graduate courses must be approved in advance of enrollment by a student’s graduate advisor.
Applied Learning
Students in the MS in aerospace engineering program are required to complete an applied learning or research experience to graduate from this program.
- For students choosing the thesis option, the requirement can be met by completing AE 876.
- For students choosing the directed project option, the requirement can be met by completing AE 878.
- For students choosing the coursework option, students must also successfully complete an Applied Learning Activity (ALA) by enrolling in a 0-credit hour applied learning course with an AE professor.

為來(lái)自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Applicants for full-standing degree admission to the specialist and master’s programs typically must have: Earned a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution or a recognized institution in another country whose requirements for the bachelor’s degree are substantially equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree. The minimum acceptable scores for most programs are: TOEFL - 79 on the Internet-based test, or 550 on the paper-based test. IELTS - minimum overall band score of 6.5 is required. PTE Academic - 58.
