A Master of Arts (MA) in applied economics from Wichita State’s AACSB-accredited Barton School of Business offers you international economics specialized option. This option will equip you with a broad understanding of the overall economic environment, which will help you as you advance your career or pursue your Ph.D. in economics. A no-concentration option is also available for students who want to customize their program of study.
Curriculum
The international economics option is ideal for students with an interest in the international economy, both from a business and policy perspective.
All tracks require either a thesis (30 credit hours) or an independent research project and an additional course in the student’s area of interest (33 credit hours). The MA degree in applied economics is typically completed in four semesters.
Applied Learning
Students in the MA in applied economics - international economics concentration program are required to complete an applied learning or research experience to graduate from the program. The requirement can be met by successful completion of ECON 893 Research Project.
The project require students to demonstrate their ability to successfully apply the tools of economics to a research problem of their choosing and submit a paper to their project advisor.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Applicants for full-standing degree admission to the specialist and master’s programs typically must have: Earned a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution or a recognized institution in another country whose requirements for the bachelor’s degree are substantially equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree. The minimum acceptable scores for most programs are: TOEFL - 79 on the Internet-based test, or 550 on the paper-based test. IELTS - minimum overall band score of 6.5 is required. PTE Academic - 58.
