Wichita State’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) prepares you for entry-level professional nursing positions in a variety of health care settings and provides a foundation for graduate study in nursing. The program combines CCNE accreditation, experienced instructors, exclusive scholarships and applied learning in Kansas’ health care hub.
Curriculum
The core nursing curriculum comprises 66 credit hours and is taken over four semesters. To start the professional curriculum, you’ll first need to complete the prerequisite courses totaling 59-62 credit hours.
The Wichita State and Kansas State Pathway to Nursing Program is a unique dual degree program that gives students the opportunity to earn both a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from the College of Health and Human Sciences at Kansas State and a Bachelor of Science in nursing (BSN) from the College of Health Professions at Wichita State University.
Applied Learning
Students in the traditional BSN program are required to complete an applied learning or research experience to graduate from the program. The requirement can be met by completing all required coursework culminating with the NURS 499 Clinical Capstone course.
Careers
A nursing degree from Wichita State will give you the knowledge and practical skills for high-paying, high-demand nursing careers in diverse health care settings such as hospitals, nursing and residential care facilities, schools and government.
