專業(yè)概況

Wichita State’s Bachelor of Music Education (BME) - vocal combine’s professional training with experienced music educators, real-world teaching experience in local schools, and virtually countless opportunities to perform, in venues big and small, on campus and throughout Kansas’ center of arts and culture.
Curriculum
The curriculum is divided into general education, music performance, music theory and history, and music education including applied learning in K-12 classrooms equipping you with the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to start your successful teaching career.
Piano Proficiency
Students who have not satisfied all piano proficiency requirements must enroll in class piano until they meet those requirements. All music majors must pass the piano proficiency examination before graduation and BME students must have it completed before the student teaching semester.
Applied Learning
Students in the Bachelor of Music Education - vocal program are required to complete an applied learning or research experience to graduate from the program. The requirement can be met by recitals, ensembles and student teaching.
