The most successful social workers are those with strong leadership skills, compassion for people and the drive to help individuals improve their lives. In the University of Findlay’s social work program, we look for students who demonstrate a commitment to social change through work experiences, academic endeavors and extracurricular or community service.
We look for evidence of an individual’s ability to succeed in a demanding academic program and a professional career following graduation.
Our graduates are successful! For the last three years, 100 percent of graduates from UF’s social work program have been hired in social work professions or have been accepted to the graduate schools of their choice. And for the students who have gone on to graduate school, 100 percent of those students have found social work jobs within three months after earning their graduate degrees.
Our Program
At Findlay, you will complete two internships - arranged with help from UF faculty members – as part of the social work program. You will have opportunities to develop close working relationships with the faculty, not only as professors or lecturers, but also as caring professionals who can help prepare you for the “real world” of social work.
In addition to a solid education, the social work program will provide you with the knowledge base unique to the social work profession. The academic course work emphasizes four areas of knowledge for the social worker:
- Social service policy
- Human behavior in the social environment
- Social work methods
- Research
As a graduate of Findlay with a degree in social work, a wide range of employment possibilities include:
- Mental health facilities
- Child welfare and adoption agencies
- Hospitals and public health agencies
- Schools community centers
- Family services
- Facilities for the developmentally disabled
- Non-profit organizations such as United Way
- Homeless shelters
- Youth centers
- Community action agencies
- Local, state and national government agencies
- Drug treatment and rehabilitation facilities
- The Social Security Administration

為來自中國的學生設計 Applicants must have high school grades (minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average) and class rank. English Language Requirements: TOEFL (iBT) score of at least 61, an IELTS score of at least 6.0, a Pearson Test of English (academic) of at least 50, or an International Test of English Proficiency (iTEP) of at least 3.5.
